About

Business software that tells you the truth about your business

BizManager was built on a simple observation: most small and mid-sized companies do not have bad data because they are careless. They have bad data because the same sale is written down in four places, and four places will never agree.

The usual answer is more discipline — reconcile more often, check the register against the ledger, chase the salesman for his book. That answer has been available for a hundred years and it has never worked, because it asks people to do the computer's job.

So BizManager records each event exactly once. An invoice at the counter is the same object as the stock movement out of the warehouse, the entry on the customer's ledger and the lines in the general ledger. There is nothing to reconcile because there was never a second copy to disagree with the first.

Everything else follows from that. Reports are fast because they are reading the same records you entered. The month end is short because the postings already happened. And when a number looks wrong, you can follow it back to the transaction that caused it rather than guessing which of your four books lied.

What we hold to

Six things that are not negotiable

The books are not an afterthought

Plenty of billing software prints an invoice and leaves the accounting to a shoebox in March. BizManager posts a real double-entry journal for every transaction as it happens, which is why the trial balance is always available and always balanced.

Written for this market

Multi-currency, local tax treatment, local payment methods and contracting under local law — decided per region rather than translated from a template built for somewhere else.

Isolation is a property, not a promise

Every company's data is separated on every query by a filter that the application code cannot route around. It is enforced in one place so it cannot be forgotten in another.

Access is denied until you grant it

Permissions start closed. A new user sees nothing until a role gives it to them, and what they did is recorded against their name. That is the opposite of the usual default, and it is the right one.

No feature held hostage

Plans differ by which modules they include, not by crippling the ones you have. There is no per-invoice fee, no charge to export your own data and no upsell to make a screen you already paid for work properly.

You can leave

Your data is exportable while you are a customer and retained for 30 days after you stop being one. Software that keeps you by making departure expensive is not software you should trust with your ledger.

How it is built

Boring technology, on purpose

Your ledger should run on things that will still be maintained in ten years, not on whatever was fashionable the year the product started. BizManager is built on a conventional, well-supported stack, hosted with daily backups and a 99.5% uptime target.
